4th Grade - Today's vocabulary word was Pulchritude which means beauty. The ponderer was Thomas Alva Edison who took out 1,093 patents during his lifetime.Students figured out the items in the What In the World puzzle for the warm-up activity. Brochures for the planet Velzar were completed followed by creating a "See, Run, Do" poster. While developing that poster, students learned the importance of asking the right questions and making sure they are interpreting directions correctly. Then we began making our cooperative creatures.
3rd Grade - Scamper which means to run; to go hastily or lightly was today's vocabulary word. Elvis Presley whose high school music teacher told him he couldn't sing, was today's ponderer. Students figured out the items in the What in the World puzzle for the warm up activity. In Crystal Pond Woods students developed their divergent thinking skills as they brainstormed using word webs. Several students shared information about the Polynesian island they researched. The Wonder lesson had students learning about chemistry.
