2nd Grade - Today students finished their Surprise in the Middle drawings they had started yesterday. We also took this time to finish a lesson on politeness that we had begun before the Winter Break.
4th Grade - This group learned that something Ponderous is heavy and massive. Frederick Douglass, our investigator for today, learned to read as a slave which lead to the desire for freedom. These students drew a Surprise in the Middle drawing for the warm up activity. The affective lesson focused on Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. After realizing their areas of struggle, students were then able to develop an action plan to fix the problem. The afternoon had each group completing the directions for their robots. When they had the directions finished they traded their directions with another table. Each group then tried to draw the robot according to the written directions. Materials were collected and put with the directions which will soon be sent to the other school for assembly.
Welcome to Washington Irving's Enrichment blog. This blog was designed to keep parents updated as to the activities of students participating in the program.
