2nd Grade - Students completed the Loosen Up drawing for the weekly warm up activity. The focus of the affective lesson was self acceptance. After listening to the story I'm Gonna Like Me, students drew a picture of themselves doing something they liked.
3rd Grade - This group learned that Welfare is the good fortune, health, happiness, prosperity of a person, group, or organization; well-being. Their investigator was Elvis Presley who only got a C in high school music because his teacher didn't like his style of music. For the warm up activity this group also completed the Loosen Up picture. The focus of the STEAM lesson was chemistry. Students discovered what happened when different colors of water were mixed together. The weekly visit to Crystal Pond Woods focused on divergent thinking. Students were given an answer and had to come up with the question. The final activity was to complete a brochure about the island they have been researching.
5th Grade - The vocabulary word for this group was Nefarious which means evil, infamous. Today's investigator was Robert Fulton who invented the steam engine as a result of his own doodles. They also completed the Loosen Up drawing for the warm up activity. Since the deadline for the Exploravision contest is next Friday, the rest of the afternoon was spent completing more sections of that contest.
