3rd Grade - This group learned that Tranquility means calmness; peacefulness; quiet; serenity. The investigator, Michael Jordan, did not make his high school basketball team as a sophomore. Students completed a What in the World puzzle for the warm up activity. We discovered the result of the experiment from last week that involved steel wool, water, and oil. As we continued our study of chemistry, students made a hypothesis about what color their water would turn when a tablet was dissolved. In Crystal Pond Woods, we continued our divergent thinking lessons. Students learned how to create a chain reaction contraption based on the work of Rube Goldberg. The final activity was to spend more time researching their Polynesian island.
5th Grade - The vocabulary word today for this group was Gregarious which means sociable. Students learned the Benjamin Franklin only had two years of schooling. They completed the What in the World puzzles for the warm up activity. With the quickly approaching deadline for Exploravision, students spent the rest of the day diligently working to complete their essays.
