The investigator, James Earl Jones, had a stuttering problem as a young child but took speech lessons to overcome that struggle. Students drew a Surprise in the Middle picture for the warm up activity. The focus of the STEAM lessons for the next several weeks will be chemistry. Students will be observing how steel wool can be kept from rusting in water. In Crystal Pond Woods, students had the opportunity to continue brainstorming with the emphasis being creativity and elaboration this week. The final activity was to spend time researching a Polynesian island.
5th Grade - This group learned that Modicum means a moderate amount. Today's investigator, Conrad Hubert, got the idea of the flashlight from a friend who wanted to invent a flower pot that would light up. These students drew the Surprise in the Middle picture for the warm up activity. The focus of the affective lesson was on telling the truth. The rest of the day was spent working on the Exploravision contest.
