2nd Grade - Students completed their gifted education program surveys this morning.

3rd Grade - This class learned that Confidence means belief in oneself and one's powers or abilities. The thinker was Jim Carrey who had to drop out of high school to help support his family. Students solved the What in the World puzzles for the warm up activity. Each student completed a survey about the gifted education program. The affective lesson focused on Courage today. Each student was able to demonstrate courage by giving a one minute, spontaneous speech about an assigned topic.


4th Grade - These classes learned that Benign means something that is harmless. The weekly thinker was Mary McLeod Bethune who understood the importance of an education and started a school for African Americans in Daytona, Florida. Students were challenged to solve the What in the World puzzles for the warm up activity. For the affective lesson, students evaluated and compared their characteristics with those of different family members. Time was taken to complete a survey about the gifted program at Washington Irving. When those tasks were completed, students finished selecting 10 foreign countries and research the language spoken there.
