2nd Grade - This class learned that Atmosphere means a gaseous envelope surrounding the earth; the air. John Adams, our second President, never climbed the stairs of the White House because the stairs hadn't been built yet. Together we started solving the Quotation Quizzler for the warm up activity, but ran out of time to finish it.

5th Grade - These students learned someone who is Pugnacious is quarrelsome (argumentative). Their thinker for today was Alexander Graham Bell who experimented with vibrations because his mother was deaf. Students completed a Surprise in the Middle drawing for the warm up activity. Our affective lessons this year are focused on developing leadership in kids. Today, students had to make a human train with each member connected by a balloon. Following the activity we discussed the successes and failures of working together. The rest of the day had students trying to log onto the internet but technology issues made the final activity one to be saved for another day.
