2nd Grade - We spent our time together finishing projects started earlier in the week.
3rd Grade - This class learned that a Cannibal is a person who eats human flesh. Their thinker was Lucille Ball who was told to go home by her drama school teachers. Ms. Ball persevered and became a famous actress. Together these students were able to solve the Quotation Quizzler puzzle for the warm up activity. The affective lesson focused on task commitment and motivators to completing a task. Our weekly trip to Crystal Pond Woods had students starting a game similar to Master Mind only using paper and pencil.
4th Grade - The vocabulary word for this group was Interminable which means something that seems forever, as if there's no end in sight. Clara Barton was the thinker. Ms. Barton started the American Red Cross during the Civil War. Students worked together to solve the Quotation Quizzler for the warm up activity. We began looking at family traits and how our personality came from our ancestors. For the System study, students began looking at different languages spoken around the world.
Welcome to Washington Irving's Enrichment blog. This blog was designed to keep parents updated as to the activities of students participating in the program.
