2nd Grade - The investigator today was George Washington. President Washington was the first president of the United States under the Constitution, but there was a president of the United States before him. These students tried the Stories with Holes problem and discovered the solution.
5th Grade - The fifth grade vocabulary word was Gape which means to become widely open, separated; to stare in amazement. Their explorer was Archimedes. Archimedes discovered "water displacement" while taking a bath to solve the mystery of a gold crown. The warm-up activity was a Stories with Holes problem. These students also developed a class "Code of Conduct". They were given a pre-assessment on Explorations. The final activities centered around quilts and getting to know each other.
