4th Grade - The students in these classes learned that Unflappable means someone who is unflappable has a lot of self-control and is not easily upset or frightened. Today's explorer, Martha Graham was a famous dancer whom President Ford call a "national treasure." Students solved the Stories with Holes problem for the warm up activity. The affective lesson focused on the generalization that being gifted means different things to different people. . The rest of class time was spent finishing up the directions for our robots, finishing up the planet brochures, and repairing our mystery creatures.
2nd Grade - The affective lesson focused on the generalization that understanding why people tease others may allow you to choose how to deal with teasing.
