2nd Grade - The vocabulary word for this week is Evaporation which means to change from a liquid or solid state into vapor. Our thinker was Sybil Luddington who was a female version of Paul Revere warning the colonial militia the British were heading their way.
5th Grade - Today students learned that Tantamount means equivalent to, virtually the same. The thinker was Ruth Wakefield who ran out of baking chocolate, used a chopped up Nestles candy bar for her chocolate cookies, which resulted in chocolate chip cookies. Students solved the 20 Questions Mystery Object for the warm up activity. During the leadership lesson, students completed a "treasure" hunt in their small groups looking for ways their peers demonstrated leadership. Students spent the rest of class working to finish their Bridge Across America timelines.
Next week they will be introduced to the Exploravision contest.
