2nd Grade - These students were enjoying their annual Thanksgiving rotations. We will resume our regular schedule on Monday, November 27.
5th Grade - Our learning started with the vocabulary word Opprobrious which means shameful, infamous. John Pemberton, our weekly thinker, invented a popular drink called Wine of Coca which he sold as a brain tonic. When alcohol was banned in Atlanta, his new formula didn't sell as well as the original. The formula was sold a couple of more times before Asa Chandler added bubbles and calling it Coca-Cola. Students completed a Surprise in the Middle drawing for the warm up activity. The affective lesson had students considering leadership qualities in their friends. Our next major project will be the Exploravision contest which was introduced today. The rest of the class time provided students an opportunity to complete their Bridge Across America projects.
