2nd grade - Our warm up activity for this week was a creative thinking opportunity which really required some additional brain activity. One student would move a piece of paper to create the drawing while another student held the pencil. We then moved to our affective lesson where students began another activity demonstrating understanding of the fact that being gifted means different things to different people.
4th grade - This class learned that Benevolent means kind and caring. The weekly thinker was Jimmy Carter who worked with Anwar Sadat (former President of Egypt) and Menachem Begin (former Prime Minister of Israel) to reach a peace agreement. These students worked with partners to complete a drawing of a snake. While one student held the pencil in place, the partner moved the paper around to reached the desired drawing. The affective lesson focused on each students' strengths and weaknesses and how "self talk" can be an encouragement. The rest of class was spent working on Google classroom assignments dealing with Language Systems.
Welcome to Washington Irving's Enrichment blog. This blog was designed to keep parents updated as to the activities of students participating in the program.
