2nd Grade - Their vocabulary word for this week was Potent which means powerful and effective. Martin Van Buren was the explorer. Mr. Van Buren presented his first case in court at age 15. Because he was so short, he had to stand on a chair. Students completed a Quotation Quizzler for the warm-up activity.
5th Grade - Passive which means inactive; acted upon but not acting in return, was today's vocabulary word. Robert Goddard, the father of modern rocketry was today's explorer. They also completed the Quotation Quizzler for the warm up activity. The affective lesson began with an activity followed by a discussion regarding impossibilities. Students put their Exploravision projects on poster board for parents to see during Open House this Thursday. The final activity was the beginning of space exploration where students were to build a space station.
