2nd Grade - The affective lesson focused on our emotions. Students recognized that they have a variety of emotions and drew them on paper. Activities around emotions will be the focus of our affective lessons for the next few weeks.
4th Grade - Today's vocabulary word was Climate which refers to weather conditions; a condition or attitude. The explorer was Langston Hughes. Inspired by Mary McLeod Bethune (one of our former explorers), he lead a revolution during the Great Depression called the Harlem Renaissance providing comfort to African Americans at that time. These students completed a Stories with Holes problem for their warm-up activity. Students continued studying the characteristics of successful people with the focus on courage for today's lesson. They wrote thank you notes to one of the contributors from Donor's Choose. The final activity was spent discussing the cause and effect of damage to various body systems.
