4th Grade - Today's vocabulary word was Gloat which means someone who is happy about another person's failure. Roberto Clemente was today's ponderer. Not only was he an outstanding athlete, he was also a great humanitarian. He lost his life in a plane crash delivering aid to earthquake victims in Nicaragua. Students played 20 Questions for the warm up activity. The affective lesson focused on successfully completed projects of the past and how to translate that success to future projects. The rest of the morning was spent completing the Wonder of the World projects.
3rd Grade - Today's vocabulary word was Fervor which means ardor, zeal, earnestness. The ponderer was Harrison Ford who performs real life rescues. Students began developing their Divergent thinking skills in Crystal Pond Woods. For the Relationship study, students selected one of the many Polynesian Islands to research. In the Wonder study, students analyzed a variety of caps and sorted them because that is what a scientist does.
