4th Grade - Today's vocabulary word was Gloat which means someone who is happy about another person's failure. Roberto Clemente was today's ponderer. Not only was he an outstanding athlete, he was also a great humanitarian. He lost his life in a plane crash delivering aid to earthquake victims in Nicaragua. Students played 20 Questions for the warm up activity. The affective lesson focused on successfully completed projects of the past and how to translate that success to future projects. The rest of the morning was spent completing the Wonder of the World projects.
5th Grade - Sedulous, which means industrious, was today's vocabulary word. The ponderer was Sam Colt inventor of the revolver. Students discovered the object of the 20 Questions warm up activity. The affective lesson focused on ways to deal with peer pressure. The afternoon was spent completing the Wonder of the World project and sharing them with the class.
