1st grade - Today's ponderer was James Garfield. He was shot in the back during a time when doctors did not know about germs. When the doctors kept probing in President Garfield's back, he developed infections that eventually killed him. Today's warm-up activity was 20 Questions. Students began developing inventor thinking by learning about brainstorming.
5th Grade - Sedulous, which means industrious, was today's vocabulary word. The ponderer was Sam Colt inventor of the revolver. Students discovered the object of the 20 Questions warm up activity. The affective lesson focused on ways to deal with peer pressure. The afternoon was spent completing the Wonder of the World project and sharing them with the class.
