1st Grade - The ponderer for today was Nellie Cashman who took care of miners at various camps during the different phases of the Gold Rush. Students tried Plexer puzzles for the first time. At Crystal Pond Woods, students started developing their creative thinking skills as they invented a couple of items.
5th Grade - Today's vocabulary word was Dovetail which means to combine or unite into a unified whole; fit together harmoniously. The ponderers were Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. Not only were they famous musicians/movie stars, they were also great humanitarians. Students completed Plexer puzzles for the warm up activity. Following the warm up activity, students read about the first Thanksgiving while completing Tangram puzzles. The afternoon had students building bridges with straws after hearing a little bit about the book Bridge to Terabithia.
