2nd Grade - Aqueduct, which means a large pipe or conduit for carrying water from a distant location, was today's vocabulary word. Their ponderer was Sacagawea an interpreter for the Lewis and Clark expedition, but could not speak English. Students learned the value of listening carefully to directions as they completed Surprise in the Middle for the warm up activity. We continued learning about skills that make people successful in our affective lesson. Today's focus was introducing yourself to an adult or "Putting Your Best Foot Forward". The rest of the morning was spent completing logic puzzles using manipulatives.
3rd Grade - The third grade vocabulary word was Prevail which means to be victorious; to persuade. Their ponderer was Clint Eastwood who was fired from Universal Studios because they said he couldn't act. A Surprise in the Middle drawing was the warm up activity. An evaluation completed the Take Five program which was helping the third grade group develop the skills of successful people. The rest of the afternoon found students completing logic puzzles using manipulatives.
