4th Grade - Today's vocabulary word, Idyllic, describes something that is pleasant and peaceful. Matthew Henson, who assisted Robert Peary in becoming the first humans to reach the North Pole, was today's ponderer. The affective lesson focused on friendship and why we have friends. Our Systems study had students exploring the metric system.
3rd Grade - Catamaran, a boat with two parallel hulls; a raft of logs tied together, was today's vocabulary word. The ponderer was Alexander Graham Bell who besides inventing the telephone also invented the comic book. Students completed a logic elimination puzzle for the warm-up activity. In Crystal Pond Woods, students were given a map and only four colors. The problem was that areas of the same color could not touch each other. Students learned about our government and how the laws and rules we have are necessary.
