3rd Grade - Passive which means inactive; acted upon but not acting in return was today's vocabulary word. Oprah Winfrey who did not wow her bosses as a TV reporter was today's ponderer. These students also completed the Plexer puzzles for the warm-up activity. Max the Magician had these students fitting pentomino pieces into different shapes. We listened to the rest of Call It Courage and discussed the conclusion. The final activity was to check our experiment and determine if our hypothesis of the chili sauce cleaning pennies would work.

2nd Grade - Today's vocabulary word was Obsolete which means out of date; no longer in use or in fashion. Mary Elizabeth Bowser, a northern spy who played dim witted in house of Jefferson Davis, was today's ponderer. Students worked on Plexer puzzles for the warm-up activity. The affective lesson had students listening to Stress Can Really Get on Your Nerves by Trevor Romain & Elizabeth Verdick. After listening to the story, students practiced a couple of the suggested activities. In Crystal Pond Woods, Max the Magician had students working to fit tangram pieces into some puzzles.
