4th Grade - Due to being out for snow and field trips, this class met today instead of Friday to make up some of their missed activities. Unflappable which means someone who has a lot of self-control and is not easily up set or frightened was today's vocabulary word. Martha Graham, today's ponderer, helped developed modern dance and had some famous students. Students completed a logic elimination puzzle for the warm-up activity. In the System study, students brainstormed types of systems in Oklahoma. They then researched one particular system in Oklahoma and shared how that system was helpful to our state.
5th Grade - Today's vocabulary word was Chaparral which means a thicket of shrubs and small trees. Horace Wells, the discoverer of anesthesia, was today's ponderer. Students quickly completed a quotation puzzle for the warm-up activity. Their affective lesson focused on using good manners. The afternoon was spent researching an aspect of the industrial revolution.
