I just wanted to let you know: Tomorrow evening I will be in my room for Open House. You can stop by and see some of the projects the Enrichment students have been working on.
2nd Grade - The vocabulary word for today was Despite which means in spite of, notwithstanding. President William Henry Harrison angered Shawnee Chief Tecumseh so much that Tecumseh put a curse on the Presidency. All Presidents elected in a year ending in 0 died in office until President Reagan. A quotation puzzle was the warm-up activity. Anger was the focus of today's affective lesson. In Crystal Pond Woods, students were given more puzzles to decode with their animal friends.
3rd Grade - Catamaran, a boat with two parallel hulls; a raft of logs tied together, was today's vocabulary word. The ponderer was Alexander Graham Bell who besides inventing the telephone also invented the comic book. Students completed a logic elimination puzzle for the warm-up activity. In Crystal Pond Woods, students were given a map and only four colors. The problem was that areas of the same color could not touch each other. Students learned about our government and how the laws and rules we have are necessary.
