4th Grade - Today's vocabulary word was Infallible. A person who is infallible never makes a mistake. Elizabeth Blackwell, America's first woman doctor, was today's ponderer. Students solved a Stories with Holes problem for the warm up activity. Stress, procrastination, perfectionism, potential, isolation, leadership, risk-taking, and motivation will be the focus of our affective lessons for the next several weeks. Today's lesson was an assessment of how each student perceived these entities in their lives. The rest of the morning students built parallel and series circuits. They designed a simple house floor plan and wired it with lights.

5th Grade - Solicitous, which means attentive and concerned, was today's vocabulary word. The Father of the Idaho potato, Luther Burbank, was today's ponderer. A Stories with Holes problem was the warm up activity. The affective lesson focused on self-discipline. One aspect of self-discipline is goal setting. Students will keep track of how well they are working toward that goal this week. We will celebrate their successes next week. The rest of the day was spent completing their Bridge Across America timeline.
